On June 22 2023, there was a ceremony held to honour artist Darren Yelton (Ḵanáḵeltn), before lowering his welcome figure at Sen̓áḵw for refurbishment. Ḵanáḵeltn and his brothers will now begin working to renew his carving on site. The welcome figure will be reinstalled at Sen̓áḵw at a later date.
